Chauson Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering positive change and empowering rural communities in North Karnataka through strategic initiatives to uplift education, empower artisans, and nurture the holistic development of children, senior citizens and others.
Below are a few of their ongoing initiatives
Empowering Education Through Online Access
We recognize the importance of free access to quality education material on the online learning platforms in the rural areas to bridge the gap in access and resources. Hence our Foundation provides educational materials to students, which are tailored to suit the needs of students in the rural areas, and are available in both English and Kannada, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Elderly Care and Inclusion Initiative
We support a local old age home at Chikodi, where residents— many of whom have sadly been forgotten by their own families. Our Foundation not only helps them with food, but also provides them a platform to share meaningful moments, where they engage with younger generations — singing songs, sharing life stories, and celebrating festivals together. This heart warming exchange bridges the gap between generations, brings joy, dignity, and a renewed sense of belonging to the elderly, while inspiring the younger generation with the values of empathy and community care.
Rural Education Support Programs
We have sponsored the schooling of children at the foundational stage by covering their tuition and transport fees, and providing uniforms, books, and essential learning materials. By removing these financial barriers, we aim to ensure that every child not only attends school but also learns with dignity, confidence, and hope for a brighter future.
We have also launched a dedicated Academic Support Program to help around 800 students in eight government schools, these are schools, where the 10th standard pass rates are low. The program focuses on students in Classes 8 and 9 who struggle academically, empowering them to successfully clear their 10th standard examinations. Through innovative and engaging teaching methods, personalized attention, and concept-based learning, we aim to strengthen their understanding of core subjects and rebuild their confidence in learning.
Chauson Sante (Market)
The Chauson Sante program is an initiative to support and promote local arts and crafts. It provides artisans with a platform to showcase and market their products, helping them gain visibility and fair opportunities. Beyond marketing support, the program also acts as a bridge between the artisans and government bodies, ensuring they receive the resources, recognition, and guidance needed to sustain and grow their craft. Through this initiative, the foundation celebrates cultural heritage while empowering communities economically and socially.
Intended Outcomes of the Initiatives
Our initiatives are aimed to make a tangible difference in the lives of rural communities.
Increased access to quality education would empower students to pursue their dreams and break the cycle of poverty. Support for artisans will not only help to preserve traditional art forms but also provide economic opportunities for local communities. In addition to the above Chauson Foundation has initiated activities for senior citizens, and other underprivileged sections of the society.
